The first step in a therapy is the assessment, it means we will try to know deeply why the patient decided to visit us, what does he want exactly and what are the causes that are producing and contributing to the problem. In the assessment we use questionnaires, registers and all the information that the patient is giving us during the sessions.
A good assessment it’s the clue for a good therapy.
We are going to share with the patient all the conclusions we take from the assessment, we want him to know what is causing his troubles or difficulties, and how are we going to work for prevent and move forward from that state of mind. A deep knowledge of what is causing my negative moods helps me to understand what can I do to feel better.
We take the conclusions of the assessment as a base for designee the treatment, in the therapy we will use the most specific techniques, depending from each case, the diagnosis and the circumstances of the patient. We will teach cognitive techniques, use behavioral approaches, social skills, make group sessions, and everything that we think can be helpful for our patient.
In all the sessions we follow the deontologic code, so we preserve the total privacy of everyone who ask for our help.
Since we start our work as psychologist we characterized for making a team work with our patients, we want to give them all the skills and strategies that, in our years of experience, we found to be most useful in the management of moods. Also the strategies that makes easier to start the changes, which usually are the main goal for most people when they start a therapy. Our final objective it’s to make those changes last for a long term and also to make the therapy as short as possible.
