The first step in a therapy is the assessment, we will try to obtain a deep understanding about the reasons why the patient decided to visit us, what does he/she exactly needs and what are the causes that created and are maintaining the problem. In our evaluation we use test, registrers and any information that the patient has given us during the sessions.
A good assessment it’s key for a good therapy.
We are going to explain to the patient all the information and conclusions we got from the assessment, we want him or her to know what is causing the issues, and how we will work to prevent such a state of mind and move forward from it. A deep understanding of what is causing my negative moods helps me to understand what can I do to feel better.
Using the assessment as our basis, we’ll begin the therapy, and during the treatment we will use different strategies, depending on each particular case, the diagnosis and the circumstancies of the patient. Usually: cognitive techniques, behavioural approaches, social skills, group therapy, mindfulness meditation and anything that we think can be helpfull for our patients.
